We love Mt. Rainier. Really.
We camped at Ohanapecosh which may possible be the most beautiful campground in Washington. We hiked, but not as much as we usually do since we now have a dog and Mt. Rainier hates dogs apparently. We kinda knew this but didn't really think much of it and decided to push forward with our plans. After one heated aggro-hiker conversation, we decided to follow the rules. The Pacific Crest Trail is VERY dog friendly, and probably the only trail in the park area that is. Lola did great and we loved having her there, but for future trips we may not include her because of our love of hiking the trails. We did finally get to see "the wild flowers" everyone talks about and has now taken us 4 years to be successful at. Lola also learned how to swim on this trip! At the campground there is an awesome cliff diving spot and swimming hole (COLD) that was perfect. She was hilarious the whole time whining and crying but not giving up the curiosity. I still don't know if she enjoyed it, but she did it. Awesome trip, I love this place so much.
