Sherice and Ryan Get Married - Hawaiian Style

Sarah and I were very happy to witness Sherice and Ryan get married last month in Kona. We have both never been to Hawaii and the timing was perfect. The wedding was beautiful and to be a witness after getting married myself was a whole new experience. Your are connected on a different level, so watching the show illustrates so much more. Getting married is an amazing life experience, I highly recommend it.

Sherice asked me to take photos during the event and I couldn't have been happier to accept. I did do my homework, but the freestyle'n confidence is something I really respect now from professional photographers. Having a decided vision vs. deciding on the go is what you pay for. Overall, I am pretty happy with my shots and learned a lot. Sherice was also happy with my results, so it was a success. I can't lie, shooting this type of event is intoxicating and something I could really get into. (if I could find the extra 18K for new equipment)

We were in Kona for 5 days staying at our timeshare with Amber and Scott. The hotel and wedding was 30 minutes away from our compound. We had a little beach a couple blocks away and were pretty much in the thick of Kona entertainment. We partied pretty hard everyday and got plenty of much needed sun. We went to Volcanoes National Park expecting to see some lava flow but only received smoke. It was still cool to be on top of a volcano, especially for us Science Channel nerds. We did a lot of body surfing in the warm ocean which is something I have learned to love almost as much as riding powder. All of the young'ins went on a snorkel boozy-cruise and we saw an amazing coral reef. There was 6 different varieties of fish cruising around. I was hoping to see a giant turtle, maybe next time. The boat had a water slide and diving plank so you know the snorkel trip ended up turning into a water park trip in seconds. On our way home we were joined with Spinner Dolphins and they showed us their bag of tricks. LOVE those things!

I now see the draw to Hawaii but I leave seeking more! I fear this is how the Hawaii-bug starts. You experience one island and instantly get the need to see what the others have to offer until you figure out which island you decide will be "your island." I am up for the adventure, when do we start?
