Despite my terrible hangover which I still can't explain, our send off was great.
Friday night we had a little party at The Ballard Loft with a bunch of our friends, amazing turnout - thank you so much! The after-hours party continued at our empty home until late in the evening. Amber and Scott spent the night with their puppy and woke up to a stolen car. WTF! That doesn't happen in Fremont. I still don't believe it. Sorry, Amber. :(
My hangover was a creeper and didn't show it's face until noon and didn't leave until we took off. I was a mess the rest of the day - I am sorry for my attitude family, I didn't want to yack on you. We got to the airport and our final goodbye to Lola was one of the hardest things we have done. Tears was an understatement. After check in, the family sat down for a final drink and hugs and even more tears. S and I would randomly start tearing up during our walk to our gate. It is hard, we are coming back but damn - we are leaving a lot of love for a long time.

Our flight was amazing. Travel at night and eat sleeping pills! The skip to LA was a breeze and Virgin Australia took care of us very nicely all the way down. I wish I didn't have those pills because there was so much I wanted to watch on the TV. I quickly realized that we were on a Aussie flight when I could have watched the Senna documentary or 5 races of the Aussie V8 Supercar series! We lucked out and had a row to ourselves which meant the feet were up the whole time. We slept all but 2 hours until we landed. Those two hours I watched race 4 and 5 of the Supercar series which was an incredible race, (learn something USA) and we were on the ground!
