Down Under Update-023

July randoms!

We went to an AFL match which is a strange game. Like Rugby, there are tackles without pads, but you pass the ball by kicking it. You can score multiple ways by kicking the ball between three sets of posts. It is fun because it doesn't stop. AFL blokes are not the beasts you see playing Rugby but they are surgical with those kicks.

Surfers Paradise Festival gave us a free block party concert where we saw Lost Dinosaurs and a really great Bite of Seattle-like food event at the base of our apartment. That night they also gave us our own firework display which was INSANE to see from our 14th floor deck.

Springbrook National Park, what a beauty! It is closer than our other two choices and the first hike we did gave the others a run for sure. Waterfalls! What is with this country and waterfalls? Have you ever walked under one? Me neither, but I always wanted to which is rad because this trail put you under two. There were some some really cool caves too that were formed by fallen rocks, love that these trail makers put your experience into the environment instead of avoiding it. Jungles, man! I am going to miss the sounds and sites we have experienced on these hikes.
