Salt Creek Campground was a childhood favorite of Sarah's. She has been talking about bringing me here ever since our first camping trip together. This is one of those places you want to come back too. It was beautiful and had lot's of entertaining features. We battled the rain the entire trip and would go out and play at each rain break. So happy we brought the topper, otherwise we would have come home early. We explored the tide pools in the morning and terrorized all the anemone's we could find. Lake Crescent turned out to be quite a surprise, what a beauty! That water is Kool-Aid-Aqua, no joke. Guess the lake doesn't have any algae so somehow that creates it's striking color. We did a hike on the non-freeway side of the lake that used to be a railroad. It was really neat walking alongside the entire lake and finding old train tunnels and tracks. It was a wet and cold weekend, but we were in the right mindset and enjoyed the hell out of it. I guess this was our relaxing vacation of the summer, it really did do the job. Can't wait to go back and camp in the national park up there, amazing land.
