The Slew is a side project of Kid Koala and members of Wolfmother - WOW! Basically, they got together to do the score for a movie that never got produced and decided to perform the music live because it is so damn good.
Something like that.
This is a rock band created with scratching, drums, bass, and keyboard. It is a mix of blues, hip hop and garage rock - a really amazing sound. Kid and P-Love woudl juggle vocal loops or rock rhythms back and fourth like dualing banjos for 4 mintues strait with no struggle, no cueing, no earphones. They scratched and juggled vocals and made it sound like there was a lead singer. Really insane. I had a hard time trying to figure out what was going on. The opening band, Adira was probably the most entertaining set I have ever seen. (next to Ghostland) She is hilarious! They covered Bobby Brown's poison and I lost it. Her backup dancers did all the classic 80's moves and even had ribbons at one point. Giggles.
