Shred Day 04 - 10/11 Season

12.27.10

Day 1 of my Holiday Huckcation. I took the time off between Christmas and New Years to snowboard as much as possible knowing that heavy family celebrations were going to eat my weekend up like sugar cookies. Today was a nice start with 5 inches of fresh and some leftovers from the night before. I spent most of my time on the backside trees as usual. There are so many jibs on the hill right now with the low coverage, the whole mountain feels like a terrain park. I keep charging these hits harder and farther, confidence boost'n. There is nothing better than snowboarding when you should be mouse clicking. I really hope to find some piece of mind in the hills this week. Some people go to church, I find my peace up here. I had this same conversation with a Stevens local on a chair ride up the backside, a fellow seeker of the stoke. My new routine is to ride as hard as I can without stopping and hit the Sultan Bakery on the way home. Have you had their peanut butter cookies? Man, it is worth the 60 mile drive alone.
