Day 2 of my Holiday Huckcation. I was anticipating heavy snow accumulation from Mondays fall, but it really didn't deliver. The snow felt crispy, almost as if it rained over night. I did a lot of runs under the lifts today. I used to ride this line all the time with Jenn and Erin and have moved on from it. Some nice stashes off of Jupitor on the backside. Today was one of those days that I loved my iPod. Riding alone without music can be a real test of dedication. My tunes were perfect and kept driving me hard all day. I think I now have my sea legs for the season.
I shared a chair with a 76 year old snowboarder who's goal was to be able to shred until he was 80 or more. I found so much inspiration from this man, he is doing exactly what I will be doing. He only started 12 years ago and told stories of hitting the medium sized jumps in the terrain park and how he tells his wife he feels like he is 20 when he rides. Hell yes! I thanked him for his conversation and his inspiration.
