2.28.11 - Whistler
Day 2 in Whistler, and we slayed it! It snowed all day on Sunday and didn't stop all night. Monday graced us with 7" of fresh snow to play with. We spent most of the day in the Symphony and Harmony areas which are our favorites. Symphony Express chair was actually closed when we got up there and we took a run and ended up at the base of the chair with 100 other riders just waiting. I told Sarah we are not going anywhere, the minute this chair opens it will be the best line of your life. We waited for 25 minutes watching Patrol in the distance taking our lines. Did this just happen again? YEP! We rode down all of Harmony on 7" of untouched snow. We are talking ZERO grooming. The only way to know where we were going were the poles they had placed on the runs to tell the skill color. Amazing experience, thank you Whistler. We pretty much did that 4 or 5 more times, with me dropping bowls and Sarah taking the ridge, then we headed deep into the Symphony area. I found some new territory in the Amphitheatre and got waist deep in the trees! Insane luck we have had on this trip!
