Shred Day 18 - 10/11 Season

04.02.11

Surprise powder day! Chris and I have been away from the hill for a few weeks, to come back with 4" of fresh was a nice welcome home. We spent the morning on the backside sessioning the top of Souther Cross in the trees. It was so good up there! The fresh snow and perfect tree placement made a floaty-boardercross-like experience. Just that area was amazing, everything else we tried around that section was really bad. I will never understand this part of snow science. The rest of hill was alright and our legs were burning but we ended it with a hike on Piss Point. We passed by one of the openings on a Tye Mill run and spotted that it was untouched so we had to take care of that. Man, without a doubt, the best line of the day was up there! So floaty! So deep! Nothing is like powder turns, I am so addicted.
