Chris x PDX

June 24-26, 2011

Eleven of us headed to Portland in honor of Chris and his bachelorness. We destroyed that town and the awesome-level was close to catastrophic.

I met Chris 4 years ago and have been snowboarding with him every winter since. Really stoked I was invited to be apart of the chaos. Pat and I drove down to meet up with a couple PDX cats at a beach house in Canon Beach. Not bad, right? We were greeted with Hams and chicken wings. Not bad, right? The next day we went to this beautiful cove to surf with the rest of the crew. The weather was perfect and this was the prettiest beach I have seen in the Northwest. I don't surf, but I really enjoyed the process of it and getting to take some photos of these dudes do what they love. Surfing is one of those sports that I am fascinated with but will never get into because of the logistics of it. It was nice to be apart of it for a day. We were on the sand all day playing horseshoes and exploring the cove. It was also weird to run into a bunch of snow dudes we see at Stevens up there surfing. We headed into the city that night to our hotel and also find some trouble. Let's just say, we took care of our boy and we got to enjoy it "almost" as much. Our plan was to snowboard Mt. Hood the next day but that didn't end up happening with the hungover late morning. (Really was bummed) We came up with a backup plan to float a river. All 11 of us rallied to Fred Meyer and picked up some inflatable boats and beers and we headed to a state park to embark on our journey. I had never done this before, but I really do get it now. We had a blast out there joking around and blasting each other with water canons. That night we went back out for another round of entertainment. Man, PDX takes care of you. We were ball'n that night, it felt like a rap video. It was an awesome weekend and Chris admitted to one of the best weekend of his life - so great success! Man, I love Portland.
