Shred Day 19 - 09/10 Season

04.10.10

Snoqualmie pulled through. Pat promised us feet of untouched snow with the re-opening of West, we were hesitant but it all worked out. It really worked out! Chris and I were guided to all the hot spots on a mountain that get's a lot of flak. We started off at Wildside tearing up the fresh, dropping little cliffs, and hucking off anything we could find. That little run is super fun, like the Tye Mill of Snoq. We headed to the farside for to tear up that other non-groomed section and found another fun drop and some natural booters. The highlight of the trip was crossing over to Central which has been closed for awhile and riding an untouched hill - the entire hill! This is the kind of stuff you hike hours for and spend tons of money on Hellicopter rides. It was steep and deep and fun as shit. All smiles all day. There was a group in the middle of the hill doing excercises, they were fun because they would root at us when we slashed on by. Chris found a natural booter that couldn't be sculpted any better. Well, he found it by mistake and launched off that thing a good 30 feet and stomped it! We all took that line later on and felt like stars in a shred film. (not really) We had to hike back to West on the road the first time but the next two trecks we actually got a ride from another shredder who was doing the same run! We all piled into a Dodge Voyager blasting Russian pop music and got 2 rides back to West! It was one of those perfect situations that don't happen often. Epic powder run, random ride back, rinse and repeat! Killer day, so happy we drove the whoppin 45 minutes to have one of the best days of the season.
